Défis des Jeunes presentation
  Défis des Jeunes Concept

In the context of the World Cup and the Tour du Grand Montréal, friendly and safe races will be held for fifth and sixth grade students and secondary students on a segment of the pro course before the professional races begin.

Goals

  • Promote good physical, moral and metal health in young people.
  • Take advantage of the event to teach young people basic safety rules in preparation for summer.
  • Restore a love and joy of biking in our children.
  • Give young people the opportunity to enjoy themselves during an international event.
  • Allow young people to express themselves and perform in front of a crowd.
  • Give young people a goal and motivation by humanizing these top calibre athletes as the students stand near them and speak to them.
  • Allow young people to imitate Olympic stars by encouraging them to come into physical contact.
  • Have school board staff (administrators, teachers and commissioners) work toward a common goal and objective for a prestigious event by volunteering to organize and manage the event.
  • Involve families and the community in an international event.

The following stages will hold a Defi des jeunes prior to the pro race
