Montréal shines again as the only city in the Americas to host a stage of the Women’s Cycling World Cup, bringing together the international champions of this discipline. Following the arduous Mount Royal course, this elite competition attracts thousands of Montrealers and visitors whose applause stimulates the racers.
Then, catching their second wind, the cyclists embark on the Tour du Grand Montréal, a route that is just as exciting, which this year once again winds through the streets of Montréal and neighbouring cities.
By allowing Québec athletes to measure their skills against the world’s best cyclists, these sports events encourage our young people to be physically active. They also generate major tourist spinoffs for Greater Montréal and media echoes that rank it among the world’s great cycling cities.
The Gouvernement du Québec is proud to be associated with these prestigious sports competitions.
